Founded in 2007 by James and Lori Baptist, originally we were known as ‘Marconi’s Oceanside Gifts’. As the marketplace continued to evolve, so did our vision. Several years later, the store was renamed “Marconi’s Beach Outfitters” and grew into a store with a vast selection of products including gifts, but with the addition of beach apparel, sunglasses, pool floats, beach chairs, fudge, ice cream, and taffy.
Over the last 10 years, we have expanded into your go-to shop for all your vacation needs. Each year we continue to listen to our customer base and make sure we carry all of their favorite beach brands.
EARLY HISTORY
The start of one of the most recognizable and famous stops along Route 6 began in 2007 by James Baptist and his wife Lori. Seeing the opportunity, they purchased the old Ocean Reef Shell Market and immediately started creating something special. Working day and night, James re-did fixtures, painted the storefront, added a fudge kitchen and even an Ice Cream shop. He had a vision and the knowledge of what customers wanted and using his experience managing their sister store Seaberry Surf which has been around since 1959, and started by Lori’s family, he made sure he checked all the boxes. He recruited his son, Kyle Baptist who took on the management of the location along with his wife Helen.
